Heel Pain / Heel Spurs
There are many factors and conditions which can lead to foot pain, the most common being heel pain. Heel pain can present itself first thing in the morning when the foot is placed on the floor and can continue all day with shooting pains up the leg and within the foot.
Causes of Heel Pain / Heel Spurs
• Over Pronation
• Over stretched / inlflamed plantar fascia ligament
• High arches that pull on the foot muscles / ligaments
• Calcium deposits eventually resulting in a Heel Spur
• Tight calf muscles caused from poor or little stretching
• Muscle tension that pulls away a piece of the bone at its insertion
Treatment / Prevention of Heel Pain / Heel Spurs
• Stretching calf muscles to reduce tightness
• Wearing correct footwear for both everyday and sporting activities
• Correct insoles to support the arch and reduce tension on ligaments and muscles
• Heel Cups / Cushions to add extra shock absorption to shoes, reducing pressure on heels
At 2foot2 our philosophy is 'prevention is better than cure', therefore in order to minimize / prevent Heel Pain, it is important to use the correct 2foot2 footcare product(s) such as our range of Podiatrist designed Orthotics and Heel Cups / Pads.

All our Orthotics have an added heel shock absorbing pad which offers superior comfort at heel strike reducing the impact on the painful heel.
